About Nicole

Nicole has a deep passion for dance.  It all started when her mom enrolled her in ballet as a way to channel her copious energy, and she hasn't stopped dancing since.  After graduating college, Nicole started partner dancing (swing and salsa) as a way to meet new people and make friends. 

Nicole has been teaching for 25 years and is known for her uplifting, energetic, and welcoming teaching style.  She has a reputation for being both warm and forthright--a great combo for learning and improving your dance skills.

Among Nicole's professional credits, she has:

• Studied dance at Beloit College
• Performed in local dance companies
• Owned Northwest Conservatory of Dance, a ballet/tap/jazz/modern studio with over 175 students
• Graduated from Dance Masters of America's Teacher Training School, a 4-year teaching program
• Certified by exam to teach ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance
• Taught for NIKE as a dance fitness instructor
• Served as the Outreach Director for BodyVox dance company in Portland, OR

Currently Nicole works as a teaching artist through the Right Brain Initiative and Arts for Learning NW. She recently choreographed for Liberty high school's The Little Mermaid.  

Because dance has been such a positive, life-changing experience for Nicole, she is now dedicated to bringing the joy of dancing to beginners of all ages.
